Boardroom Table: In January 2011 Jas. Becker Cabinetmaker completed and installed their largest conference/boardroom table ever, a 24 foot long bow-sided table with a stainless steel base (base provided by Master Metal Works of S. El Monte, CA).   Here you will find a few photos I took during the installation.  Each of the seven veneered sections has a 1″ thick laminated maple edge. Each veneered section has a core made of 1″ maple plywood sandwiched between top and bottom sheets of 1/2″ lightweight MDF.  Each of the plywood cores has a 24″ x 36″ cutout filled with epoxy inpregnated corrregated cardboard to reduce weight.  The veneer is bookmatched both accross and end to end.  Underneath the table are three trays to support electronic gear and cordage.  Over each tray is a wire routing “Grommet.”  The table accommodates twenty 30″ wide executive chairs (eight down each side and two at either end).  The grommets enable teleconferencing equipment and computer charging capability for the people in attendance at meetings.

An oval dining table made using the same techniques can be seen at the following link: http://jasbecker.com/styles/biedermeier-furniture/biedermeier-dining-table/
