Hope’s Huntboard: The term huntboard actually refers to a tall table used to serve food and drink to horse mounted hunters prior to the beginning of the fox hunt. The term is now often used as a synonym for sideboard or serving table. I chose to use the term because it adds alliteration to the title. Hope was my mother-in-law and ordered this piece to compliment a Victorian Regency style oval extension dining table. This custom designed huntboard is pictured in cherry with a dyed finish. The doors and drawer fronts are veneered to allow for the birdseye maple band around their periphery. The key holes have imitation ivory escutcheons and the drawer is on glides.
